The Work-Life Reset Menu

So, yesterday, I asked ChatGPT to help me come up with something special in the spirit of the holiday season: a Work-Life Reset Menu. Just for fun. But also a kind of pop-quiz to keep my own personal AI on its toes. Anyway, this is what it came up with (copy/paste, emojis and all). Clearly, some are solid. And some are like…huh?

🍵 Mindful Tea Meditation – Sip slowly, savor fully, ignore Slack for at least 7 minutes.

🛌 Intermittent Napping Tacos – Fold a quick power nap into your day; consult HR if questioned.

🚶‍♂️ Walk-and-Talk Wrap – Turn your next call into a walking meeting. Side effect: fresh air.

🥂 Inbox Infusion – Hit “unread” on at least one email and savor the suspense.

📚 Skill Sprinkles – Add 15 minutes of learning something totally unrelated to work. Weird is welcome.

🖌️ Color Outside the Calendar – Block time for doing something creative that has zero ROI.

☕ Micro-Break Macchiato – Take a real 5-minute pause without scrolling. Seriously. Just breathe.

🎯 Priority Pizza – Slice your tasks into “must do,” “want to do,” and “why am I even doing this?”

My goal was both to brainstorm and have a little AI fun, given ChatGPT's known quirks. I mean, I think we've all fallen into the trap of going along with what our respective AI tool suggests, only to re-read and realize moments later we've been fed utter nonsense. It’s also a (slightly deeper) reminder that there isn't only one recipe for work-life alignment. When it comes down to it, it’s a mix of experimentation and permission to do things differently. In a way that's more human.

Some ideas will stick. Some will be horrendous. And some might just change your day in ways you didn’t expect. Whether it’s Intermittent Napping Tacos or an Inbox Infusion (if you know me, leaving notifications unread gives me mild anxiety...so this one's a hard no), pick one small recipe this week. Try it. And see if it adds a little more of whatever you're craving to your work-life breakfast, lunch, or dinner table. Bon appetit!
